Before the therapy I will examine the ears with an auriscope, to see if it is safe to carry out the proceedure, you will then be asked to lie on your side with your head resting on a pillow. The candle will be placed gently into the outer ear passage in a position that feels comfortable. It will then be lit and you may hear a pleasant crackling noise during the treatment. Once the candle treatment has finished, the ear will be massaged. This procedure will be repeated on the other ear and after both ears have been treated, you will be given a facial massage including lymphatic drainage.
